In the English class I teach here in Taiwan, we talk a lot about current events. I asked the kids who thinks America will go to war..

Most raised their hands, and one of them said, "the man on CNN said, ""Oil hungry Bush is likely to start a war even if the American people and the world, don't want one. He is driven by one motivation only, oil.""

WOW!! I see now that "objective journalism" is soooo far out the window that they no longer even make the feeble attempts to hide it..:cuss: :fire:

I'm almost tempted to start pouring slime on these people if I ever see them on the streets... That's what they are, slime.

I love how they live under the very banner of freedom they gripe about..:fire:

Sounds just like a college student here in the states. It is good to know that knowledge of history and critical thinking is not required outside of our borders. I was worried about the level of education provided within our borders, but your post gives me hope that for the foreseeable future the U.S. can compete in this world.

Seriously, I think we are in a losing battle here. Liberalism is here to stay and I believe that it started with the hippy crowds around the 60's. Maybe even earlier. I don't think that any amount of factual info presented in a reasonable arguement is going to sway the crowd. Sure, you may get about half a dozen or so to see your view but that is only a drop in the bucket. I know I sound abit pessimistic but I personally believe in God and the Bible and this is something that the good book talks about happening. Not in exact words of course but in the underlining themes. Anyway, we can sure try to keep plugging away but it is a waste of ones breath.

Facts to liberals is like cryptonite to superman.

Please don't bother me with the fact, who needs facts when you can run around being overly emotional like a headless chicken?

It's nye impossible to refute anything or even present facts when every other sentence starts off with "The man on CNN.." They don't want facts, if they did, they wouldn't be watching CNN!!

Only 1 girls said, "I don't get it, I watch BBN and they never say the stuff that CNN says.. I think CNN is biased.."

Trust me, despite the fact that I pump them full of facts and they know what is the truth, to relieve the cognitive dissonance, they still rather believe the warm fuzzies rather then the cold hard facts.
