We seem to think we have an infinite amount of money to throw at God's whirlwinds. Meanwhile the Chinese chits are piling up and we are forgetting how to build widgets and our kids think WW II was about Manzanar.

Longeyes is fast becoming my hero!!!!

Years ago in another America I remember the idea was to build a better
widget at a fair profit and have a good life, now the idea is have another
country build it (junk it may be) and sell it to an uneducated consumer.

Maybe I'll move to Texas. I know I don't belong here any more (Los Angeles).

All of our problems come back to values. It's not hopeless but we need to zero in on what's wrong and get crackin'.

I have increasing doubts that we can remain one America without replaying Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I forget how that one ended...badly?
