Bushing compensators - do they actually work?

I was looking at a Tri-port bushing compensator over at CDNN for my 1911, and am curious if they are nearly as effective as a ported barrel?

Hardly any effect at all, not worth the money in my opinion.

If it's for 45 acp, IMO you won't generate enough pressure to utilize the porting..so, No, it won't work.

I have a Witness Silver Team which is comped and it makes a difference. Now, it is a comp screwed to the barrel. A bushing comp may not do as well. I don't know. I have often wondered myself.
