I've liked these since I first saw one in a magazine (I like bullpups in general, although I know many don't)...Got to handle one in local gunshop and liked it even more...

Now,what I DON'T like is the .223/5.56 round...My understanding is that these use at least SOME AR-15 parts...So, my question is, how hard would it be to rechamber/rework one to some of the other chamberings that are available for an AR, like .300 Whisper, .458 SOCOM, or whatever?

Don't know for sure, but I think it would be very difficult. I have a bushy and love it, except for the caliber. The only saving grace is you get the whole ooomph of the poodle shooter because you have the full length barrel in a compact package.

Now, as to your question of changing caliber, the bolt and action are VERY diiferent from an AR system, so I do not know for sure if it is do-able. Fitting a bolt for another caliber would be difficult, IMHO.

I think the only feasable way of swapping would be to go to the 6.8 SPC. This would allow the use of all parts except the barrel/chamber...which are sort of a one piece deal on this rifle. So you could theoretically have a chamber/barrel combo made for 6.8SPC and drop it in, using the remaining parts.

My only question after that would be the timing of the gas system with the different round.
