Bushmaster or smith and wesson

I don't want to start a Bushmaster bash fest, but without a doubt the S&W M&P15 is a much higher quality AR.

I have nothing against Bushmasters, I owned one for a couple years and it was flawless. However if you compare the specs the M&P offers a lot more bang for the buck.

This chart can be a very good reference when it comes to shopping for an AR, it's not a buying guide but it's informative.

I just read a great comparison thread the other day and you might want to give it a read before buying either one.http://forums.officer.com/showthread.php?t=81462 some didnt like the post but I thought it was very informative for any prospective AR 15 owner. I have a Bushy and a Colt. There is a world of difference between the two once you get to looking close

Yes, this. And I own a Bushmaster. It's been fine, but the S&W is a better value.

change of plan!!

Here is the latest deal i'm working on with my dealer, I called him and told him what i want and he said he can do this deal, DELTON AR15+ an eotech 512+ BUIS rear sight for my Danwesson pm 7 in 40 and my SR9c..what do you guys think about that deal..I may be loosing some money on the danwesson ,I only have 300 rounds through it ,same with the sr9c, but this trade will be all straight up no money coming out of my pocket, what do you guys think??thanks, i'll post pics ASAP just have to get the kids ready..

Well, the Del-ton and Eotech brand new run $750 and $400. The BUIS is worth between $50 and $100. That Dan Wesson used to retail for about $1200. Based on new prices alone you stand to take a bath on the deal. With ARs prices at rock bottom there is no reason to lose money on such a trade.

Agreed^

Just buy the S&W and keep what you have. Nothing wrong with Del-Ton but I wouldn't want to give up a Dan Wesson to own one.

Dealers love people who want to trade-in guns because they can usually make out very well while the customer looses out. Years ago I used to do the trade-in thing a lot and I learned the hard way just how much you loose over time by doing this.

Just buy the S&W and you'll be happy;)

And the winner is...

Well here is what I ended up getting , I just wanted an AR15 as an addtional HD and just plinking at the range, occasional 100yds shots or what not so I went with DELTON + EOTECH 512+BUIS, I gave my Dan Wesson PM7 in 40cal and my SR9c, I hate losing any of my guns but that is the only way i can get the setup that i like, so with any more yapping here it is..thanks for the input, what do you guys think , did I did ok on the whole deal, i did not add any money..

the whole package..

shearstress I paid 980 on the DW NIB and 380 on the sr9c that is 1360, I used both ,I guess you loose some you win some..the price tag on the delton was 750, the eotech was 450 and the buis was 70, the prices may be high but around here its hard to get thind unless i order online which means shipping and taxes..

I think you did OK, nothing spectacular. BTW I think your Eotech is a 517, not a 512; the 517 is optically the same but has a raised front allowing you to mount it farther forward without hitting the delta ring. Since your BUIS looks crowded, you might want to try that.

Enjoy!

Z-michigan thanks, I'm new at this eotech thing so any info will help, I did move it a little bit forward..
