I don't find magnification to be the primary problem (I find that many folks use more than they need for most any task), but rather a general lack of features desired for target shooting (for LR target they include: FFP, matched reticle/adjustments, ballistic reticle, et al).

BTW, if your Kahles is one of the discontinued CL models from CDNN it is a fantastic scope for the money.

:)
Oh, I see what you mean. True very true. Yeah, that is the model Kahles I have. It is on a Thompson Center Icon in a 243 that shoots literally one hole groups with handloads. The first time I sighted it in I shot twice and thought the second shot was a flyer. This was at 100 yards. So the third shot I held it ever so slightly higher and it created just a lip on the previous one hole group. I went on to confirm the accuracy and it was easily repeatable as long as I did my job.

By the way, I live in Wilson, NC. Where is Huntersville? You can pm if you wish.

Just north of Charlotte.

I have a Kahles Helia CL 2-7x32mm that I am waiting to plop on something, just don't know exactly what yet.

:)

I had an Elite 3200 4-12x on my Rem 700 SPS Tactical. Frankly, I was unsatisfied with the optical quality and eye relief. I sold it, saved up a little more, and then bought a Nikon Monarch. I'm happy now.

Yeah, I don't think 3200 and Tactical are a good match? 3200 for everyday field use is another story. I would not be using less than 4200 on LR and that's iffy?
