Hey, I'm thinking of a Banner 6x18x50 for my M14. Does anyone know if they will hold up to the semi-auto cycling? I know they are low-end scopes, but the price is unbelievable! I just bought a Burris Fullfield 2 3x9x40, but it looks kinda puny on the rifle. Any info would be great.

I have a Bushnell Banner 3-9X40. Haven't mounted it to my FAL yet but presumably it will handle a .308 recoil because there is a chart for choosing the corrent bullet drop compensator ring for .308.

I don't think you need to worry too much about it. Your M1A is heavy enough to absorb most of the recoil. I put an even cheaper scope (a Simmons) on my .308 and it's still hanging in there. The only problem I've had was with the AO changing between shots. I just focus it for my target distance and run a strip of vinyl tape over it to hold it in place. Inelegant but effective.
