2.5-16x 42mm. Wondering if anyone has first-hand experience with this scope. I'm going to be putting the Redfield 2-7x that is currently on my 700 BDL 8mm RM on my new 673 guide gun in .350 RM, which means selecting new glass for the big 8 that's a little more appropriate for a very powerful, long-range game getter. My first instinct was another Leupold VXII 4-12x 40mm or VX-III 4.5-14x 40mm, but it'd sure be nice to have the magnification range of the 6500.

I have the 2.5-16x50. I have used it for about four years now. I LOVE it. My only regret is that I did not buy the 42mm objective instead. I have had to add an extra cheek piece to my rifle for proper alignment with the large objective.
I mounted my 6500 on a bolt action .308. I have used it for shooting hogs at ranges of less than 20 yards, and I have also hit a 20" target at 1000 yards. The turrets work almost as well as target turrets on target scopes. But when the caps are on, you don't have to worry about bumping them into things. Although I recommend NightForce or something similar for very long range tactical rifles, I think that the bushnell 6500 is by far the best scope for a hunting rifle. There aren't many scopes that work equally well for close range and long range. Glass is high quality too. You will not regret buying this scope. Bushnell has set a new standard in versatility with the 6500.

I have a couple of Bushnell Elites, but no 6500. I have no doubt that it is a fine scope. I have no qualms about buying more Elites. Love that rainguard out here on the foggy Calif coast :)
