No such thing as cheap ammo anymore.

In many cases, you cannot beat Walmart prices for common stuff. The normal price around here at the Walmart for 12 gauge bird loads is $15/100. After shipping, you won't get that anywhere online, certainly not 100 at a time.

And often white box prices at Walmart are very competitive with mail order as well.

But, get past that kind of stuff and mail order can be attractive, it is just that you have to be willing to buy in quantity to get any deals.

natchezss.com has been about the best I've found, without going crazy searching. cheaperthandirt often isn't ...

Beware dealing with 'ammoman'.

Heres a list I've cobbled together. Got FMJ?

Reviews and additions? Comment. :)

A price list http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=222888

I try to keep this updated. I will move a supplier from 'unknow' to 'known' with enough comments. That is for service not price.

idiots - stupid popups, ok not popups but worse since a popup blocker won't block them. I'm not spending a dime with them till they take it off and apologize.

"ammoman" is a total and complete ???hat who cheated an ar15.com member and pissed of numerous others. I'd been hearing about the owners inability to handle complaints. The posting is archived so you have to have a paid arfcom account now but the meat of it's here http://community.livejournal.com/guns/957428.html

Collectible or rare ammo
Known, good stuff and they just got a huge shipment of laboratory stored ammo.

I'd say the ID10T is anyone still using Microsoft Internet Exploder. www.sportsmansguide.com is a smooth running site with Mozilla Firefox! You've missed out on some of the best ammo deals to be had these past 12 months by insisting to stick with Billy G's crappy products. Fer instance Fiocchi 170gr .40 S&W $165/1000, Fiocchi 230gr FMJ .45ACP 180/1000.

I usually buy from Sportsmans Guide when something of interest is on sale. The only popup I get from them is the occasional one on the home page when first logging on asking if I want to enter in their contest (i think it's a trip to hawaii or something) and it's easy enough to close (I use IE6).

I recently asked around for sources on Wolf Match Target .22LR

Got a tip on rimfirecentral.com for Champions Choice.http://www.champchoice.com/

I called them on 12/19 and ordered 10 bricks of Wolf MT. It arrived on 12/22, via UPS.

Price was $260 plus shipping, for a total of $277.79.

It's $38 per brick at my local gun shop, which was totally out of Wolf MT for a few months, so this was a GREAT bargain for me.

Champions Choice tends to deal in benchrest ammo and precision shooting supplies, so they don't carry all calibers, but I'm happy with the service on what they sold me.

Well wolly I have firefox and without adblock and noscript the code they used would avoid a normal blocker in firefox. Since you've chosen to make an assumption and a personal attack I choose to leave them in gaol for the rest of the month.

Have a very merry whatever.

If you're in CA check out local Wal-Marts
I've bought Blazer Brass 45 ACP for 9.97/50 on 12/18/06
12 Ga birdshot WW was $15.52/100

I use IE7 and just ordered from Sportsmans Warehouse, no pop-ups and the ammo prices were good, the shipping was $17 for 500 rounds of .38 special and 500 rounds of 45 ACP. There is a control called a pop-up blocker, works for me. BTW, ID10T is the first thing new tech's learm in school, the second should be stopping pop-ups with a blocker and firewall. :neener:

The walmart near me just started carrying Blazer Brass .45ACP for ~$9.99 /50, less than $20 /100 compared to the 100rd Winchester Value pack @ ~$23. Its DIRTY though, my forearms usually get a couple black specks on them after a trip to the range, but this time I had black chunks of stuff, big enough to be suspended in the hair on my arms. Inside of the gun looks good though.
