Well the wife wants to get a handgun so we are gonna end up with a glock.
She is not real big on shooting and I am trying to get her into it.

She likes the sub compact glocks. The 26model in this case. She held it and liked it but we were low on funds so I could not purchase it.

I was thinking of getting something in a bigger caliber like a 45acp 40s&W or a 10mm and just buying a replacement barrel for it in 9mm.

I dont know what model glocks can be made into a 9mm by just changing the stock barrel to a aftermarket barrel.

The plan is to buy a powerful glock, buy and install a 9mm barrel at first.Once she gets good with the 9mm then I can move her up to the next caliber. This way I only have to spend $100 more for a barrel instead of buying a new complete gun.

Can anyone on here please tell me what I can do about this? What models can take 9mm barrels or so forth.
I need the glock to be a sub compact by the way. Thanks in advance

Get a .40S&W and a 9mm conversion barrel. you cant do it with a .45 or 10mm.

i use a KKM 9mm converion on my G24. i also swapped out the ejector housing.

I have a G23 that I keep loaded in 40cal for next to my bed, and carrying. I also have the lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel that takes roughly 30 seconds to install that I use for practice and range shooting. The price difference between the two calibers is enough for me to justify doing this. The barrel has already paid for itself. You can also shoot lead projectiles out of the lone wolf barrel, and it is very accurate. Some people have good luck using the 40 cal magazines loaded with 9mm when using the barrel, but out of my 6 40 cal mags, only one feeds the 9mm rounds reliably. I ended up buying several g19 mags for it, and the problem was solved. This is a very good way of shooting lots of ammo and really getting to know your weapon without the cost of the expensive ammo. Hope that helps

I am gonna buy whatever she wants as I fear what wil happen if I dont.

I dont want to buy the 9mm if she wants the 40.She will feel like I didn't get what she wanted and she might be pushed away from it.

With the 40 I can just drop in the 9mm barrel and call it a day

I have a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel for my daily carry Glock 23. I purchased a couple of model 19 magazines and preformance has been flawless. I also purchased a couple of 32 round magazines also to use in my
9mm conversion. I've been happy with my conversion and it's been well worth the money
