I have a Gen3 Glock 27. I'm considering buying a Gen4 Glock 23 to play around with and have as a backup. To save money at the range I'm looking at buying a 9mm conversion barrel. Can I get 1 barrel that I can use in both guns?

Yes, Glock 23 Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel will work in Glock 27.

If you experience any feeding/chambering issues, check your spring tension/mag followers for wear and replace/update with newer follower as necessary.

FYI, Glock 17 barrel will not work in either G23/G27. Glock 34 barrel will work in Glock 17

Thanks for the replies. Now for a follow-up question. The Lone Wolf site says that for a Gen4 you should also swap out the recoil spring when using the conversion barrel. The KKM site makes no such reference. Will I need to do this with any conversion barrel I choose to use in a Gen4 G23? I'm envisioning my range visits as me putting 100-150 rounds of 9mm through the G23 (possibly in the G27 as well) then a box or so of .40's through the G23 and then G27. But now I may have to have a new barrel, new recoil spring and new mags to carry with me to do this. Any thoughts?

BTW, I'm going to keep the G23 in my bedroom safe for home defense and my G27 for my CCW (both using .40).

The problem that I have with my LW 40-9 barrel in my gen4 g23 is the cheap 115 grain ball ammo will not cycle 100%. I think the recoil spring swap is recomended due to glock using seperate recoil springs for the 9mm and 40s&w in the gen4 series. I got the bushing adapter and run a regular recoil spring on mine. For what its worth you may look at midway usa prices on the lone wolf barrels and there is a thread here on discount codes for midway usa. This will put the cost of the barrel at around &89.99.

I've never priced a Gen 4 recoil spring, but the Gen 3's are only about $5-7, so if the Gen 4's are around that price it wouldn't be too bad if you had to swap springs.

My 40-9 LW conversion barrel worked to perfection in my G27 swapping only the barrel leaving the original extractor in place and using the G27's RSA. But an RSA from Lone Wolf is less than $7.

I fired 300+ 124/125 grain rounds (my cast, JHP and plated) and the gun functioned perfectly; no stoppages or any kind and accuracy was outstanding. For all my 9mm rounds I load for an MV average of 1,150 fps; not into puffballs for any combat weapon. The barrel worked so well in fact I bought a G26 and sold the LW barrel.

I've cast and loaded my own since 1970 and settled on nominal 124 grains as my standard 9mm bullet weight over twenty years ago. Other weights were just never wholly satisfactory for a variety of reason.

I own a G23 also, but for me the G27 is the backup. Both have CTC lasers.
