I'm familiar with buying online and having it sent to a local FFL, but I am curious if I can have it sent directly from the seller to the gunsmith then to my FFL. What are the requirements?

I am in Alaska and wish to have a handgun mag-na-ported before it coming up north to hopefully save on the shipping.

Thanks for any help

Back when United States Firearms was still in business, I ordered a 4 3/4" .45 Colt/.45 ACP direct from the factory. Had it shipped direct to a guy who did an action job and put on one-piece walnut grips. He then shipped it to my FFL for purchase. I suppose it depends on the seller, the gunsmith, and the receiving FFL.

Sure, as long as your gunsmith holds an FFL himself.
Same requirements as any other shipment.

To do business as a gunsmith, a person must have an FFL, so all that is needed is that your gunsmith send his license copy to the seller. There might be gunsmiths who will not sell or order guns, but I don't know of any.

I bought two SP101 revolvers that Jack Weigand had obtained directly from Ruger, or a Ruger distributor, when he was still doing custom 'smithing. I did not deal directly with Jack Weigand, however; a local dealer of high-end handguns placed the orders, with Jack Weigand, who advertised such ready-made "Tame the Beast" snub-guns on his site, so these were new handguns when purchased by me. I did not initiate the order for the first one; a state trooper had initiated the order, for one Beastie, and the dealer decided to request two of them. I bought the second one, from this initial order. Perhaps I asked the dealer to order another one for me, or perhaps the dealer decided to initiate the order, knowing that I or another customer would soon snap it up. (It has been a while.)

Though Jack Weigand no longer does custom work, there are still pistolsmiths who will accept orders from customers, who will source the new handgun through the maker or distributor. Check the 'smith's site, or call and ask.

I had a nodak spud reciever sent directly to my builder when I had a custom AK built.

As long as your gunsmith has an FFL and is willing to do it, you should be good to go.
