Well,...
I've got two. First one is a bit rough with a lot of handling dings, but it cleaned up very well and is solid and tight. It hasn't been fired much. Second came in today, and it is even nicer and newer than the first. It too is tight, and has been carried a lot and shot a little.
I inspected one that was an early early 82. Had the hammer mounted firing pin and was totally worn out. That one got returned. You definately want to inspect them if you can before buying. I have not been able to fire either yet, but I have no reason to think that they will not function as expected.
Funny thing is that the first is a larger frame revolver, resembling an "L" frame S&W, where the second is slightly smaller and lighter and resembles a "K" frame S&W. Both have heavy barrels and rough wood grips.
I removed the lanyard ring from the top pistol. If you look closly, you can tell the frame on the top pistol is somewhat larger than the bottom pistol.

For those that might be interested:
Fired both revolvers today (finally!). Both functioned perfectly, went bang 6 times each (no booms) and are accurate. These pistols are rough, but they do shoot. Good investment for me.

Got one from SOG
I picked up one of these from SOG. Mine looks the lower one in Doug's photos. Very nice shooting gun, definitely has some holster wear, but cleans up nice and I have no mechanical complaints at all. I am considering getting one more and letting my mom keep one as a nightstand gun - she has a little .25 that is hard for her 70 year old hands to manipulate. She could shoot this single action by cocking the hammer.

Do the guns from CAI come with the Taurus Warranty?

These pistols are made in Brazil and do not have the Taurus warranty. I returned one that was totally worn out to the point of being unusable to SOG (through my 01FFL of course) and the replacement is the bottom pistol.
I think the current price is in the $160's range dealer cost.

I had an 82 that had the cylinder flutes and hammer mounted firing pin - would never own another like it, NOT made by the same company in existence today.

I bought one NIB, back in the day. I never shot anything but wadcutters in it but it was a good shooting gun.
