im wondering if the columbus show, held at franklin county vetrens memorial is a big show? it says there 900 tables avaible but that doesn't mean they all get used. so i was wondering if anybody has been to this show? it is about maybe 2hrs away which is normally farther then i would go but its a long weekend and i wouldn't mind if its one of the larger ones. the one by house is about 450 tables and if its that many or more it would probably be worth it. thanks

I do know one thing that the shows promoter is "C and E Gun Shows" the same group who does the Westland mall shows which are horrible imo.
The local gun store Vances http://www.vanceoutdoors.com/bfd.cfm can beat almost any price the show had. But there is always alot more than new guns of course at the shows.
But that doesn't mean it wont bring in different vendors and be larger.
Westland show is 500 8' tables, $60 a table.
Vets is 900 6' tables, $55 a table.
If your not from the area Vets is a MUCH nicer place and Westland is in the hood.
If i had to guess this Vets should should be better than any show at Westland, Expect high attendance as you could barely move at the last 2 Westland shows.
Id say its a 50/50 shot at it being good.
But im so spoiled by low prices at the LGS that does high volume sales like Buds does but offline that new prices on guns always seem high to me.

The Vets auditorium is a good venue for show, plenty of parking (if you get there early you can park for free) good lighting, very spacious inside.
The last few shows I have been to there were far from full however. A lot of non-firearms tables and a LOT of empty space. I would not go expecting to find fantastic prices and a huge variety of guns you wouldn't see elsewhere.
Mostly you will see the same assortment of whatever is most popular these days, at prices that are nothing very special. Last time I went, I was vaguely looking for an AR15 with a 20" barrel and a fixed stock...wanted to see what they were going for. I don't think I saw any AR15s in that category. I did see dozens of the 16" carbines with collapsible stocks for over $1000. I later bought a nice Colt AR off of Gunbroker, just what I wanted, for $800.
If you go just to pass a couple of hours, see some nice guns, maybe buy a couple boxes of ammo, you should enjoy yourself. Personally, if I go nowadays, it is mostly just to see if I run across anything different that I haven't seen a hundred times before.
I will add that I did buy a nice 1903a3 at this show about two years ago. Good condition, although not a collector's item because the stock had been sanded and refinished, but it turned to be a great shooter. I paid $550, which I thought was not a bad price at all.

I can say the other shows they put on at Westland never had any manufacturers displays.
And none of the advertising ive heard never mentioned any either for this show.
i hope they have some better jerky tables as the ones i seen at Westland only had one table and it didn't look all that good.

I just got back from the show, It was better than what im used to at Westland.
Free parking seemed to stay open and not fill up as i was there from 9am-12pm

I did see a Busse Knife rep or owner stand, And i think a RRA table but im not positive it was a company sponsored table.
Im only a semi auto handgun guy, But they did have some decent prices on new guns.
Usually $20-$40 off a $450 normally priced gun im used to seeing locally.
I saw many AK's with what id think were decent prices.
Ammo prices on handgun ammo was bad, But military surplus rifle ammo was abundant but i dont know prices.
Id say it really was bigger and nicer than the Westland shows, But i didn't buy anything.
But had many offers on my XD SC .40 even tho i wasn't even trying to sell it, I just took it in so i wouldn't have to go back to the car and retrieve it if i found a gun i liked. mostly it was people attending offering to buy and not the actual dealers. So if you want to sell and get a good price id say take your guns in and it shouldn't be hard to sell them at a good price.
