Any advantage to bringing a copy of your C&R to either? Does it cut down on paperwork, get better prices? Any info appreciated. I thought I'd ask here rather than risk upsetting someone I might do business with.

yes
at least in FL anyways, we brought our C&R to one store down here and got to buy our SKS and take it home with us
in FL you need to have a CCW to buy at a gun show. however with the C&R we were able to buy our mosin-Nagant and bring it home with us.
of course it only works with C&R guns

hope that helped

It saves you having to do the 4473/NCIS and any waiting periods. Some dealers will give you a discount as that saves them some work, especially at gun shows.

Never leave home without it! I always take a copy with me when traveling too, you never know what you may find in an out of state gun or pawn shop.

Assuming, of course, that the dealer/shop owner knows what a C&R is and is willing to accept it. They are not required to do either.

Careful about NJ. I think that state doesn't recognize C&R so you might not be able to buy guns in that state using it. I know that NJ residents don't bother getting a C&R because the state only allows 001 FFLs to receive guns from out of state so the C&R is useless. CA only allows long guns to go directly to C&R holders, not handguns. Always check state laws.

Unless of course an unforseeable head injury is in my future.

Just out of curiousity, do you have any forseable head injuries planned? if so I really want to see your dayplanner.
One would hope that all head injuries are unfoseeable.

"What time do you want to get together Bob?"
"How about 4-ish? I have lunch with a client from 12:00 to 1:00 and then a head injury scheduled for 1:34 so I want some time to recover.."

Yeah. Travel with ink-signed copies...

I dropped in at Samco in Miami while there on other business and got to hand-pick from pallets and pallets of rifles.

Nice people, great experience. And a lot better than luck of the draw mail-order. No kidding, I have an M38 that the first four Russkies carrying it had to have been killed. How does that make ME feel?
