Hello all,
I am thinking of getting a C&R FFL but am wondering if it will override the stupid laws in MA in regards to guns you can buy in MA. Anyone in MA with a C&R FFL?

If you have a C&R, you are not above state law. You must fully comply with all state and local laws.

Does the MA DOJ have a contact? Is there any way you can ask and get an official response?

Which stupid laws? We have a variety here.

If you have your C&R you can get C&R firearms shipped directly to you. If there's a 50 year old pistol that you like, you can buy it even though it's not on the state's approved roster list or the AG's double-secret approved list. Those prohibitions apply to dealer sales only. N.B. if you sell more than four guns in a year to a non-FFL, you're a dealer even if you lost money on every sale. So to stay safe I recommend that you never sell any guns. ;)

Thanks for the replies. Actually the stupid laws I was refering to was the AG's double secret roster list. So if I want an old P38 for my collection and it isn't on the AG's list I can still buy one?

IIRC yes, you can. As long as it is sent directly to you.

But I still strongly suggest that you join the thread over at Northeastshooters. There are several people there who have better knowledge of these laws than I do.

Good luck.

Yes you can. You can buy any C&R handgun and have it shipped to you in MA.

Thanks for the info about c&r handguns I just recieved a cs52 from ups using my c&r. We have so many laws in this state and I find it hard to keep them stright. The A.G has a roster of guns you you can buy but if the gun on that roster cannot meet saftey standards set by the A.G you cannot.
Thanks again.
