Hi, where are some good places to buy C&R firearms that might be hidden gems? I am familiar with AIM, JG Sales, CAI, Classic Firearms, and Widener's. They seem to have the best selection. It seems like there are basically a lot of P64s and Swiss rifles and not a whole lot else these days. Are there any sites that I might be missing? Thanks.

I don't know if Liberty1776 was referring to GunBroker, etc...but I have bought close to 100 C&R guns by watching the live auctions on proxybid.com and auctionzip.com.

SOG sometimes has C&R's. Buy most of mine on Gunbroker and gunshows. Never leave home without mine. Cheap. Saves a lot of transfer fees and time and trouble.

Habitually watching the auction sites worked for me, with an occasional purchase from J&G, SOG and AIM. Eventually, after a ton of years being so licensed, I hung it up because there was nearly nothing I found interesting on the current C&R market. YMMV.

Thanks for the suggestions. I forgot about SOG. I've bought from them. It really seems like C&Rs are drying up. I see very few Mosin-Nagants (something I never thought would happen) and a lot of P64s and Swiss rifles. SKS rifles are scarce too. There are beat up Chinese SKS rifles here and there, but a lot of the others are hard to find.

As long as Brownells offers their dealer discounts to C&R FFL holders, I'll keep mine no matter what the state of the C&R market. These savings quickly pay the fee several times over.

Yeah, I'll probably never give my C&R up because one or two purchases with it makes up for the transfer fee at most gun shops if I were to buy the gun online without a C&R license.

Simpson's Ltd. Hide your credit cards.

Also Allan's Armory and Empire Arms you had not listed?

C&Rs are drying up?
Every year more guns are eligible.
Many classics from Colt and S&W are c&r.
Anything 50 years old or older. Thats 1965.
Just in Model 10s that gets you up to the beginning of 10-5 &10-6 production.
Most "C" prefix serial numbers. Almost all the flat latch "J"-frames.
There lots of C&Rs!
