I am researching a C+R license. First point I want to make is I live in Illinois which does not allow ownership of NFA items by civilians.

What are the areas that cross paths between C+R collecting and NFA controlled items. If an NFA Item is considered a C+R as stated below
how or does that change how that item is handled in commerce?

Does a C+ R Lic allow below to be held in Illinois?

Section IV — National Firearms Act Weapons Classified as Curios or Relics Under 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44

* Auto Ordnance Corporation, Model 1928 Thompson sub-machineguns, all calibers (including .45 and .22), manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s in West Hurley, New York

I don't believe it does IF it conflicts with local and/or state laws. That said, I received mine last week and believe it will be a worthwhile endeavor solely due to dealer discounts available from mail order companies (like Midway and Brownell's); being able to purchase C&R eligible firearms without the need for transfers is just a bonus.

:)

With a C&R, you can collect NFA objects,
as long as you comply with the NFA (just like you have to comply with all the other regs... local included)

So, if it's on the list, and you paperwork is in order, you can buy it under your C&R
and like he said ^^^^^^^^^^

and you can't own it, due to where you live

No problem; despite the bad news, i'd still strongly consider getting your C&R. I think the $30.00 investment will yield more in return.
