I've used the website (C&R forum) and e-mailed the owner of the site, and I'm just not getting replies. I have questions about the forms. On the Certification of compaliance -- am I just writing my name for #1 and #2?

On the Application for License -- am I writing in the Chief of Police in my area: name and address? Finally on the second page I assume I sign and date it but what is my "title" -- student?

I haven't received any answers regarding do I make copies of it for the police chief or do I just write him a letter and tell him I'm applying for it? Thank you.

Yes
Yes
Your title is 'individual' unless you are applying as a corporation or business.
Remember to send a copy of your application to your 'chief law inforcement official' with a cover letter. It will probably just end up in the chief's circular file, but it's necessary to comply with the application.
You should get your C & R license in about 2 months. Then kiss your bank account goodbye. :D

Thank you! Jesus, that wasn't hard now was it? Wonder why the other site couldn't have responded. Thank you for taking a moment, much appreciated. :)

Please explain further.

You've e-mailed the owner of the wesite. Who might that be? What website are you talking about?

Cruffler.com -- I get nothing. I just had a few questions but I never got a reply to my post or the e-mails to the webmaster.

Don't suppose it occurred to you to ask the BATF instead of complaining about someone who runs a forum out of a love for the field? Would you also badmout THR if someone here hadn't spoken up?

Well gee dev, thanks for the sweet talk. Don't suppose being hearing impaired and having trouble hearing over the phone has anything to do with my aversion to calling, do you?

Thank you to everyone else for your kind assistance -- and the list! :D

If you looked around the cruffler.com website you would discover it hasn't been updated in quite some time. It's too bad because he was doing some really nice and detailed gun reviews. At least he left all the old stuff up but no new stuff for ages.

You should go somewhere where people can answer your questions. Lots of choices but the falfiles opened a special forum for C&R and it gets a lot of traffic. Usually where I go to ask about a particular "new" C&R gun I'm considering buying.

And notice there are a bunch of "sticky" topics at the top of the page that answer most of your questions.

And I was supposed to intuit that somehow? BTW, BATF does snail mail as well. They might even have email by now. I didn't mean to sound nasty, but I found your tone hard to justify. Why complain because some third party doesn't help you, when you didn't go to the source anyway?

Well dev, you might go out on the limb and take a guess. No one seems to ever consider hearing loss as a possibility -- and believe it or not, we don't wear signs or announce it for non-disabled people to give them the heads up each time. It's not supposed to be my job to teach people how to be considerate. If someone is reluctant to use the phone -- there's probably a big reason why. And like most people with hearing loss, I do try snail mail and going through a website as a first step. I've done that with the ATF numerous times, and obviously if they replied, I wouldn't have gone through THR.

Tusamal, thanks for the info about the page. Yes I've noticed it hasn't been updated but I had hoped the webmaster would at least reply to an e-mail. Sometimes they do even if the site is inactive. I also went through some of the other postings but as I'm pressed for time with my summer course, I haven't had much time to really go through them. With luck, I can get this paperwork in the mail ASAP considering it takes six weeks to process. Thanks again.

Good luck getting the license fast - mine took a month. Others have had theirs held up and no one tells you it's just sitting there, so after a certain time period calland see what's happening.

Here's a great C&R Forum - they've answered my questions and know what they're talking about! So far I've only bought 2 91/30's and a M44, but it's the neatest thing to have them delivered right to your door!

If I remember right on mine I put "collector" in the title section and it sailed right on through. Bigmtnman is correct, you need to send a copy of your forms to the local CLEO.
