COMRADES!

First of all, forgive English. Is first language but I can't talk about American AK without Russian accent. Is just not possible. So I am telling story now. I send my Rubles to nice guys at Atlantic Firearms. They ship me Blonde stock Centurian 39 American AK. I say to self; "Should be Russ...I mean Republican Red !!! not blonde as from factory. Is American AK after all. I research "Russian Red" stock refinish on internet. Found much information but decided to go with shortcut method involving Scarlet Rit Dye and Minwax Red Mahogany stain. For final finish went with hand rubbed boiled linseed oil. Is saying on boiled linseed oil; "once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year and once a year from then on." Is good American saying this one.

Also am liking look of crest on Yugo PAP stocks but is American AK! Needs American engraving. So contact lady in my town; Diana's Engraving. She has website. Am pleased with work by this American lady. I am attach photos of original blonde rifle and refinished "Republican Red" AK also. You will see I add Polish grip and authentic Russian bakelite magazines. Was for color. And for fun.

Hope all THR comrades have great weekend,
Cheers... I mean Na Zdorovie!

I believe republicans prefer AR platform the AK is for fellows with socialist leanings. Every time guy with penny loafers or boat shoes, dockers, and pony rider shirt looks at assault style weapon it is almost always Colt derivative of some sorts.

In case I was coming off as trying to be political instead of funny, here's a couple of additional photos of my stock refinishing project. I had fun and learned a lot in the process. Great rifle.
