CA legal Mags for M1A?

Hi folks. I am finally buying my SA M1A Loaded rifle next month. I have wanted one for a few years, and finally feel OK about buying it (financially)

I am buying several 10-round mags from 44-mag.com

I have a question though. I found 20-round USGI mags on Fulton Armory's site.
They say "pre-ban for you in 'ban' states" in the description.

I was under the assumption that I cannot buy them at all, no matter when they were made.

Can I legally buy them and have them shipped to me? They are pricey, but I would really like to have at least 2 of them in addition to the 10-rounders.

Can I do this through mail-order? Or must I leave the state to do it, and is this even legal?

CA high-capacity magazine ban is very clear for CA residents. You cannot buy, sell, import or give magazines with greater than 10-rds capacity to anyone who is a resident of CA.

Fulton Armory won't sell to you anyway. Not worth getting into legal trouble with the State of CA just to make a few $ per magazine by selling to you.

There is a couple of states, like NY and MASS, where preban hi-caps are legal but post bans are not. California is not so friendly.

I thought so, wasn't sure by Fulton's description.

Guess I will be stuck at 10 rounds. I better get the rifle before these are also banned, and plenty of ammo before this is banned as well.

I will be leaving the state, but have 3.5 years to go at my current job to get my pension in line for later. It's worth it.

I truly hope 'Heller' can at least give us a good rock to stand on as far as CA gun laws. Its getting ridiculous.

For them to be legal in CA, the large capacity magazine needs to be owned by you and you must have had possession of them in CA before 01-01-2000.

If you were in the military you could have "assault weapons" and normal capacity magazines with a permit.
