Cabela's now carries Zastava M70 bolt-action rifles

I would agree but could live with it at the price they sell for.

Zastava rifles definitely have stocks that need to be taken one more step to completion. On my little rimfire Zastava, I just smoothed the stock with fine steel wool and shot it with a semi-gloss polyurethane. It may be blasphemy to many a gun refinisher, but it was easy and looks fine.

Got any pictures of how it turned out?

I'll try to get some on as soon as I finish the checkering. I can only do about 10 minutes and then I have to go do something easy, like brain surgery. It has a pretty nice piece of wood though and the metal finish is the old world deep, dark, shiny blue. Love it.

Billings has one in 30-06 listed for $399 on the online Gun Library (see remarks above by former Cabela's employee). More confusing is Cabela's offering these at very cheap prices. When does Cabela's do that? Ever.

If it is listed as part of the Gun Library it is used probably. The Libraries do have a few new firearms but all I've ever seen are high dollar ones.

Edit: Well hang me for a mule sniffer. Just looked it up and it is NIB. That is cheap.
