Caesar Guerini Summit Sporting

Been shopping O/U shotguns for a while, finally dropped a nickel on one, more like 60,000 nickels. Was really interested in a Beretta 686, and a Browning 725 Sport, both with 30" barrels. I was vasilating when I asked to see one of the Caesar Guerini shotguns they had. I thought it would be priced too high for my budget, not at all, just over $3000, my mind was made up right then and there. Wood, fit and finish way better than the Beretta, better than the Browning by more than the price difference IMO. everything about the Guerini just looked right, felt right, handled right. Still I had to do more home work, if they still had it in a week, it was mine. Since my recent purchase, I just keep being impressed, Lockable padded plastic gun case way better than I expected. Beretta has plastic hinges and molded in latches, Browning came with Styrofoam and cardboard box. Took the gun to BGSL south of Wilmore KY, and shot a round of sporting clays. Beat my personal best on a course set up for a sporting clay match. Hit 13 of the first 14 clays I was worried that I would not be able to shoot the Guerini Summit Sport better than my Benelli Legacy Sport, no problem.
I wanted a Caesar Guerini cap, and ordered one from their web sight, what I got was 2 hats along with a thank you letter signed by Wes Lang. Just a taste of their idea of "customer service". many other manufacturer's should take notice. Loyalty to the end user does not end at the sale with Caesar Guerini, just another reason I was not going to buy any other U/O.

Guerinis utilize some of better CNC engravings and machinings and turn out a decently reliable gun. Whether they are worth more than a comparable Browning or Beretta is a personal decision. They are basically a Rizzini design as they are related to the Rizzini families of gun makers in Italy

I'm curious what makes the fit & finish stand above a Beretta or Browning. Not saying I disagree - I've never seen a CG in person, just curious.

That's great to hear about the customer service though.

Tell us a little more about the sporting clays course. I'm i Louisville and always open to nearby xlubs

They do make pretty O/Us. Ive handled them a few times in the shop myself and considered getting one.

Fit is comparable, but they use nicer wood and seem to do a better finishing job than the basic Browning or Beretta.

The way the stock fits the receiver much better on the Guerini than the Beretta's I have handled or shot. Overall just a more attractive shotgun than a Silver Pigeon I, still about 1K more. browning 725 was close and If they still had one I might have decided to save the extra $500 but the Caesar Guerini just "spoke" to me, along with the personal treatment I have already received from Wes Lang their president. I will take some better pics with my Nikon not the Iphone and post them soon.
