I have a CZ75b Omega that I use for IDPA, ESP. I am wanting to slick it up a little. New sights, better SA trigger (I start cocked and locked so no need to worry about DA pull). I also want some thinner grips. The guns fits me well, but with thinner grips would be better.

Does anyone have experience with the slim aluminum grips from Cajun gun works? Good grip? Too slick? Any information would help.

Also, the Omega hammer upgrade and the overtravel upgrade, any experience with either of these?

Thanks.

Keith

I don't know what is legal mods in you comp and different model CZ, mines is 75 SP-01. I installed their reach reduction kit with type 2 disco, short reset system and replaced all pins and springs with theirs. Polished everything and pistol has gone from being a real good shooter to amazing. Even had couple of issues with the install and they were more than happy to help me get things figured out over the phone. CGW nothing but first class IMHO.

You can take anything David Milam (at Cajun Gun Works) says as Gospel. He's one of the most knowledgeable and respected CZ gunsmiths. (Only the CZ Custom Shop can give him a run for the money.)

Give him a call -- his number is on the website.

According to my FFL, a CZ competition shooter, there is another guy that has a great reputation (although not as well known as CZ Custom and Cajun). His name is Matthew Mink.

Matt once worked for the CZ Custom Shop and shot on the CZ Gun Teams before he went out on his own. Folks familiar with CZ Custom know him.

I bought a bunch of parts from him for my PCR and his info and and claimed results were dead on. Great guy!!

Yup, I get the impression that the 3 companies mentioned above have a lot in common, and seem to have respect for each other. Matt's website even references that he uses parts from CZ Customs. And I have read nothing but great things about Cajun. Nice to know there are some top quality specialty shops out there.

Just got off the phone with CGW. You all were right. Couldn't have asked for a nicer more informative conversation about my CZ and what his parts will do. Going to order some parts and pieces tonight.
Thanks everyone for your input.

The grips I ordered were for the full size CZ75b. Mine has the Omega trigger but the grips are the same on the non omega trigger CZ75b.
Like everyone here told me, give them a call if you have a questions. Great to talk to, very knowledgable, and didn't treat me stupid, even though my questions were pretty remedial.

Matthew Mink's operation is called Automatic Accuracy. I've purchased things from both Matthew/AA and CZ Custom Shop and great service from both. Never heard anything negative about CGW, CZ Custom, or AA. Some very good support there for CZ shooters.

Update

I put the race hammer, aluminum grips, and new sights on my CZ75B Omega. All from Cajun Gun Works, and I really like it. The hammer has made the single action break a bit more crisp, and it looks cool because of the shape. The sights are a black panel on the back and fiber optic on the front. Taking some getting used to be i do like it. The slim grips fit my hand better than the factory. I got the red grips and at the West Virginia State IDPA match i got a bunch of comments. All with the question, why get red? Of which I have no real answer, but it started a few conversations. I don't mind being poked fun at from like minded people. Promotes good conversation and fun bantering.
