Uhhh...... for us uninformed what is the firing pin bill?
I think this could have something to do with the microstamp nightmare currently playing out in PRK. If I recall, it would require firearms to stamp their serial number on cases... perhaps primers are involved as well.

So, in battle, you would stay the hell away from the front line? Nice. Some of us here are still fighting for YOUR rights in other states, because what starts here will sooner or later spread. If you really hate the draconian gun laws here that much, why don't you MOVE HERE and HELP US DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. A lot of folks on this board and others are perfectly willing to go off to some third world s***hole to enact "regime change", but aren't even willing to stand and "fight" on our home ground.
Yes, the bill that was passed was the microstamping bill which would require the gun to imprint the serial number onto the cartridge during the firing process. We're hoping that it dies in the senate and we never have to lobby the governor. We've got our hands busy with the lead ammo ban bill, the aforementioned microstamping, and a whole host of other bills in process at the moment.
Also, so what if the developer is an NRA member. If a Republican or Democrat commits a street crime, does that make all the members of that party a criminal?

Just checked one of the latest issues of the CRPA's monthly newsletter (still a CRPA life member even though we're in Texas).
This bill is AB 1471 (sponsored by Feuer, D-Los Angeles). The legislation requires that the microstamping characters be placed in more than one location on each pistol and would be transferred to the expended cartridge case at the time of discharge.
The microstamping may or may not work as intended, is easily defeated by replacing parts (barrel, firing pin, etc.).
No where in the article does it say that an NRA member is the one working on the technology. I'm sure if it were an NRA member, the CRPA would mention that fact. And as previously mentioned, it wouldn't matter anyway. We need to vent on the California legislature, not some supposedly misguided NRA member.

Furer is extremely gun ignorant. He did a press op after the LAPD got a bunch of surpluss M16 after the No. Hollywood shootout. Looked like he did not know which way was front, and his hands were burning. I have a few other stories about him as a great friend used to work in his office. If only they kept copies of stuff....

The angle that Californians need to try is to make sure all the bans are applicable to the CA police departments, especially the bullet serialization scheme.

No gun rights organizations that I am aware of run background checks on potential members before accepting them.
We all know that there are scum in all professions, even cops, and people who support the cops...investigators. Yesterday as I watched the news, I saw a "gentleman" being arraigned for a scary deed!!! This scumbag investigator here in Michigan was caught in the act of setting-up a person but staging an arson scene. Why? God only knows.
He has since been investigated in an additional 3 counties here in Michigan. How many people have gone to jail/prison because of this person. Here is where the tie-in comes for this thread. He Nifonged the case and the people.
Now, more clearly than ever, a spent round is identifyable as yours and most times left somewhere discarded for recycle. What prevents scum like this fool picking up a piece of stamped, discarded brass and Nifonging your having been at the scene of a murder by dropping two or three rounds, especially in a case where the bullet penetrated completely? This is a very poorly thoughtout law, and will lead to many more Nifonged cases.

I can't believe the idiocy that goes on in this state. Every few months its some new idiotic bill that these moronic legislatures try to pass on the masses. The reason California is like this is not just because our governor, senators, and assemblyman are dolts, but also because the mass majority of people in California don't care. As long as their illegal alien issues are met, or whatever topic is important that week, everything else seems to go out the window.
We truly are the laughing stock of the union. We have Sheriff Baca who is under investigation for letting Paris Hilton out of jail against the orders of a judge. We've got the District Attorney Delgadillo who's wife likes to drive around and get in accidents but doesn't have a legal license to drive. He used the city's money to repair the car and then finally 3 years later is apologizing saying he was wrong. Our mayor has been cheating on his wife for quite some time and just recently announced his divorce last week. This is the same man who degrades his own police department and backs up Police Chief Bratton's discretionary tactics against his own officers, merely to attain the vote of the minorities here in L.A. And thats just whats been happening in the last two weeks.

Things are so corrupt and the people are so use to seeing a three ring circus on a daily basis that nobody questions things anymore. Everyone just lays down and says, "Oh whats the use?" and because of that this state has been run into the ground. I hate it here and bills like this no longer surprise me. So what...now if there's a violent crime and there's not imprinted serial number on an expelled casing we'll just assume it was an illegal gun that was used? Wow, how quaint, seeing most weapons used in violent crimes in this state are attained illegally. What a joke. This whole states a big joke and when people laugh and make fun of us from afar I don't blame them. If I was watching all this from outside of Cali I would be laughing too. We empower idiots and then let them do whatever they want. Why hasn't Feinstein been kicked out of office yet? She's about as stupid as they come? Oh yeah, I know why, because nobody cares anymore.

What activism is being discussed and planned here?
If you have something productive to say and do about this stupid bill, open a new thread. If you just want to preach to the choir and shake your fist, I would point you to L&P, but we have more than enough of that there, too.
