I (18) am moving to California from Colorado for College. I have a Bergara b14 and benelli m2. These guns are not classified as "assault weapons" and not banned. So I need to fill out this registration form. After I do so is there any other steps? Am I good to go??
Also I'm not entirely sure what ammo purchases are like in California. Can someone help me out?
Thanks everyone!

Be careful with the Benelli. In it's standard configuration, it's not a California "Assault Weapon", but it becomes one if you have a pistol grip and a folding or telescoping stock.

All you need to do is fill out the "New Resident Registration" form and pay a $19.00 fee (total).

Be careful with California's law. Possession of a firearm on school grounds (including the state colleges and universities) is a felony. The first time offense of CCW without a permit, or the carrying of a loaded handgun where prohibited (which is almost all of the populated part of the state) is a felony if the weapon is unregistered.

You need to pass a background check to buy ammo. If you have a firearm registered to you in the state, the background check is pretty simple and cost you a dollar. If you don't, then the process is more involved and costs you $19.00.
