Yes If you come into California you must give a list of them all to the DOJ.

Any non approved gun most be sold before entering California or given to a local police station to get destoryed.

The statement in red is absolutely untrue. Except for assault weapons and handguns chambered for shotgun ammunition, there is no restriction as to what handguns can be brought into California.
