California school shooting: accidental discharge

According to this story the gun was in a backpack and discharged when it was dropped. Two kids were shot. So either the same bullet shot both kids or the gun went off more than once.

Has anyone seen a story that describes the gun that the girl was carrying? I’m curious.

well you can rule out a safety grip like a Springfield xd model /1911 https://www.usacarry.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/3-Grip-Safety.jpg
i would guess it was a 9mm since it can ricochet more then most handgun rounds and do as much damage that it did, thus ruling out a 22lr

Read the article(s). Likely something in the pack got hung up in the trigger (which is also why carry in a purse can be very bad). Interesting to see that the LA schools randomly wand everyone in school starting in 6th grade.

I haven't heard what gun it was but I have heard that it was a single exit hole in the backpack.

thus it was more likely a full metal jacket not a hollow point since it went though the back pack through a girls wrist ricochet off the boys head

Don't we all already know what gun it was? Come on now...we know. A 12 year old kid, a backpack, a gun with no external safety and a trigger all you need to do is touch it a bit, or have a bit of something get caught on it? Come on say it!

That's right a Colt Single Action Army in 45 Colt, cocked and placed that way in the backpack!

If someone has a verified source of information on what the firearm was I will reopen this. But as before, we don't do random acts of stupid just because they involve a firearm.
