There has been a lot of talk and uncertainty about these bills recently, I just got an update from one of the TFA leaders about them. Here is the story.

Get the phones up, and call them folks. If these bills make it to the house floor, we win. Especially make sure 0132 gets first support, as my understanding puts it as the better bill. If one of the names you saw is your Rep, make doubly sure to call them!

    Last minute support of HB132

Call 1-800-449-8366 and extensions 11875 and 11864 and tell the staffer that answers the telephone that you are calling in support of HB 132.

Call and email your friends and associates and ask them to do the same.

Dang, SomeKid was right all along! There really is nothing lower than some of these people. I heard about this several days ago but didn't post because I was afraid the whole sorted affair would sound unbelievable.

What I do hear is that the votes are there to pass this to the floor of the house, but it is ever so close. I've gotten quite a few people to call and e mail about these bills, but since it is delayed for another week we all have a chance to do more. Remember, calling your Reps is always good but right now it is the Judiciary committee members who we need to focus on.

TFA seems to have a good plan to concentrate on the two Dems voting our way. I own my own business and most days I work over 11 or 12 hours but if I have to, I'm getting a couple of my guys together and we're going to stand outside of a Walmart with preprinted letters for people to sign.

It is an excellent idea to call and point out that you bring tourist dollars into Tennessee and feel safer knowing that your Carry Permit is good everywhere you go in the state.

Keep the call brief, but tell them that states that make their carry laws too confusing and contradictory make it difficult for tourists to choose to spend their dollars there and that you want to legally carry in those state parks and wildlife areas you enjoy so much!

I called and left a message on the first number, however the second number I got this very nice lady that told me that he was absolutely for this bill and would do everything he could to get it on the floor.:D

    Okay, now I'm really confused...

What was reported on the local news here was that Bell had proposed a bill to allow carry in state parks, and that Nicely had proposed an amendment which would allow carry in state buildings, offices, ect...

Now I'm not quite sure who is doing what to who... but I get the sneaking suspicion that it's us gun owners who're about to get "done". :scrutiny:

No wonder I hate politics so much. :fire:

J.C., as of right now, Naifeh and his cronies (Briley, Sontany, etc.) are attempting to bend us over a barrel.

We have a chance to stop the barrel bending for once, so I hope it gets taken.

This is, of course, the part of politics I like. I love the concept of shafting our overlords in such a manner.

    Will Call Friday

I have to work tomorrow but I will be making calls on Friday. I have spent a lot of time on the phone this session. More than I have ever done before. Finally got off my duff and decided to be more active in trying to get things done.

Called. I left messages. We need to stay on the offensive, things are looking good. The mood in the country seems to be on our side. Now is not the time for complacency. Thanks to all for the work.

UKTN, check and see if there wasn't a typo, if not, check the TN legislature, and get the address straight from there.
