I was looking up C39 posts and see many are old....

First - I like AK pattern rifles (I'm not looking to start a AR / AK Debate). I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with the C39, Chrome lined (2014) version. I was looking (And starting to save up....). I've watched Hickock45's review and read up as much as I can find...

What's your recent experiences with one?

Let me also add, with the troubles in Russia... has anyone heard if Century is thinking about some longer barreled variants or calibers?

Yes, there is a 308 that yeager reviewed this week thats on a drago reciever. Look pretty cool. I think they fired the monkeys and the quality is a lot better.

I'm not familiar with C39s, but I just bought a new GP-1975 that was completely busted right out of the box. That's not an isolated incident either - Century's QC is infamous. There's no bigger PITA than buying a new gun that doesn't work, and if you do end up with a lemon, their customer service is pretty questionable.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from getting a new AK; there's no doubt that Century puts out some good guns. But their quality is very hit-and-miss. If you buy one, make sure that you can buy a supplemental warranty from someone else.
