I was ticked off at the no votes for AZ sb 1113 which is the resteraunt/bar carry bill. The bill passed our Senate, but I still get peaved when I see the no votes, so I called each representative (as I usually do) and said either I loved them for voting yes, or didn't approve of their no vote. I provide concrete information for each call.

One Senator's Assistant in particular stated there were 200 calls on this already, and that a statement would be made soon from this Senator. The lesson, the calls work!

Call these folks. Let them know how you want them to vote. I call out of my district also. I know they don't have to listen to me, but they do.
Call often. Let them know your voice.

Thanks for the good inspiration, yo mama.

I guess if they are impressed with 200 calls, we better get organized to make at least 200 calls before each vote. When another critical firearm-related bill comes up, be sure to post a thread on Activism with phone numbers and email addresses of the elected officials getting ready to vote.

I have also made a new habit of contacting ALL of my state's representatives on ALL relevant votes. I never used to, and I have started a few of my friends doing the same thing. Give them good or bad feedback as necessary. I have started being specific enough in my comments to require a non-canned response. (Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't.) I am convinced that all of my state's representatives (Including our lone Democrat) understand completely that their jobs hang on their gun voting record as much as any other single issue, and for now at least, they are behaving accordingly. I have spoken in person to my congressman (Bishop) and both of my senators (Hatch and Bennett) about it. If the Democrat ever votes against gun rights, I will speak to him about it in person as well.

me too

here's an easy way to find out the who, what when and where...

http://www.govtrack.us/

I'm in no way associated with them...but I use their site a good bit.

It is an easy way to find out who's voting on what and what is proposed and how far along something is in the process

I keep tract and Email as necessary to the point they now have a staffer call me.
VA. Webb, Warner, and rep Forbes.

I too began e mailing my reps
(getting involved) since I joined this and other gun forums
in the last several months.
It seems to be resulting in the passage
or blockage of the laws/regs I was writing about.

So I can say, it seems to work and I'll continue to do so.

Many of us have sat complacent far too long and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well my
e mails have been received and have been following the voting records of my reps.
more closely than ever in my life.

It's time for change alright (to barrow the present admin's slogan)
and maybe this last election woke up more fence sitters
who up till recently, thought our voice's and votes no longer counted.

Keep it up people.
They seem to be listening.
