The only practical reason I can think of is to increase sales. Kind of like flashlights with a camo finish...think about it, the only time anyone has one out is in the dark.
Like using the word "tactical" or "SEAL" in the name or description of a gun or firearm accessory. I've never known a SWAT team member that didn't roll his eyes at the word "tactical" when used as a sales technique. Never knew a SEAL who advertised. Camo gizmos just aren't for me. With apologies to those who like them...when they can find them.
you can hide from your family while you're reloading
camo on everything isn't always such a good idea. I was deer hunting, doing a hands and knees creep and lost a camo radio. After I got the deer, I had to have my buddy keep calling on his until I found it. I almost stepped on it twice...never would have found it if it would have been off
I have to admit, a camo loader is absolutely stupid.
It's one thing to have some camo gear for hunting. Okay, fine. Just don't drop it.
But, if you're setting up your reloading bench outside your treestand...we need to talk.
I am trying not to laugh to hard at imagining my loading bench with a couple camo'ed items on it. That would look so stupid. Maybe put a potted plant on the bench so the item wouldn't feel so bad next to the bright Blue, Red, ORANGE items....even the RCBS stuff is a pretty bright green.
One thing comes to mind: The wrinkle paint on the loaders SUCKS!!! It is soft and chips easily, and is IMPOSSIBLE to clean with dry cleaning methods. IF this new camo loader is smooth finished it sure would make keeping the press clean a ton easier. I agree the camo is sort of lame on a loader, but the smooth finish would make it worth a small premium over the blue standard wrinkle finish to me.
