camping in Ca. with a gun??

Does anyone know if you can keep your gun in your tent with you? Does it change if you're staying at a state park? Thanks.

Yes. Your tent is a "temporary residence."

However, this is not valid if you're camping somewhere that bans loaded guns. State Parks ban loaded guns, mainly as a fish and game regulation. So you can't keep a loaded gun in your tent in a State Park in California.

As far as keeping an unloaded gun and ammo nearby, you'll have to look deeper into the State Park regs to see what you can get away with.
