I have been getting these messages for a while now, and I realize that there is nothing better for shutting up antis about the need to be armed than getting a monthly reminder that someone was victim of a violent crime right where I go to school every day.

I'd like to thank whomever came up with the Federal Law referenced at the bottom.

CRIME ALERT
UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT
CORAL GABLES CAMPUS

Coral Gables Police Department Case# 08-3432

Location: 1000 block of Pisano Ave.

Date of Incident: April 18, 2008

At approximately 7:45 pm, a University of Miami Student was assaulted while she was jogging at the 1000 block of Pisano Avenue. The subject was carrying a 4 inch folding pocket knife which he used to rob the victim of her jewelry. The victim attempted to defend herself and began screaming for help. During the struggle, the subject was startled and fled the scene. The subject description is listed below:

SUBJECT 1: Black male
25-30 years of age
190-200 lbs
White tank top
Dark Shorts

The Coral Gables Police Department is investigating this case and asks that anyone who may have seen the above described subject in the area of the bridge located at the 1000 block of Pisano Av at approximately 7:45 pm to please call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.

The University Police Department recommends students and staff utilize more heavily traveled areas of campus instead of the unpopulated outer perimeter areas for exercise and other leisure activities. Always buddy up while utilizing off campus areas to jog, if you can’t get a buddy, avoid the area and stay on campus.
UMPD will increase its own police and security patrols around the area.

Post this alert as necessary to keep our community informed.

How will that shut up an Anti?
She did not have a gun, and was not murdered; therefore guns are not needed.

They would say the only thing she did wrong was resisting. She should have given him her purse and laid down on the ground like a good compliant victim. :barf:
