I've been looking into reloading and want to get a basic setup for now to learn the fundamentals and also be able to load a decent amount with. I was looking at getting a Lee Anniversary setup since it comes with alot of the initial equipment that I would need. I also am looking at the Hornady LnL press and I know I will eventually get a Progressive.

What I was wondering is, if the LnL Bushings would fit the Lee single stage press. That way, I could just get the bushings now with the dies and when I eventually get the Hornady press I wouldnt need to buy new dies and such. I'm kinda on a limited budget since the wife and I are looking into buying a new house and we aren't really looking at spending alot right now on "frivalous things"

Thanks

Never miond. I just reread the Sticky and saw this in the first couple of paragraphs.

If you go with the Rock Chucker or Lee Classic Cast press, I'd suggest also getting a Hornady Lock N Load bushing conversion kit for the Rock chucker or Lee Classic Cast press with another 10 additional bushings. The Lee is the least expensive of the bunch, is the latest single stage out and has compared favorably with the Rock Chucker and like the Rock Chucker, will accept the Hornady Lock N Load Conversion Bushing kit.

You know, I must have read that thing 5 or 6 times in the last couple of months. I can't even blame it on age. I'm only 37...:uhoh:

You can use the Hornady LnL bushings in the Lee Classic but I believe the Anniversary kit comes with an "O" press that won't accept the LnL system.

The Lee Classic Cast single stage costs roughly the same by itself as the Anniversary kit.

At MidSouth the Lee Classic Cast single is less than a Redding Big Boss but not a lot less - something like 80.00 vs 105.00 - the Hornady is higher at around 117.00 but comes with a promotion that gets you a half-pantload of bullets. That may or may not make the Hornady the value leader if you're in need of the bullets on the promotion.

Certain Hornady dies are part of the promotion and good for a box of bullets per set. My spouse would note that the Hornady is "almost free" in light of the promotion. In the case of reloading gear, I might be inclined to agree.

The bullet promotion applies equally to the LnL Classic Press only or the kit. The Hornady kit is a bit steep but has good stuff. You may be better served by just getting the paraphernalia you need separately.

I just went through the same thing and missed that part of the sticky as well. Most all of the manufacturer's "front line" singles take the LnL system while their value press doesn't.
Lee Challenger - no, Lee Classic Cast - yes.
Redding Boss - no, Redding Big Boss - yes.
RCBS Partner - no, Rock Chucker - yes.
etc.
I believe Lyman is odd man out with this but I could be mistaken.
