I have a small reloading area where I use two reloading presses to load all of my rounds. I use a Hornady LNL AP to load my .45 ACP rounds and a Lee Classic Turret press to load my .223 rifle rounds. It's a time consuming process to dismount and mount the presses when needed.

I have been looking at the Lee Bench Plate mounting bracket so I can make changing out the presses as speedy as possible. My concern is not with the Turret press but with the LNL progressive. My bench is stable for the LNL but I'm concerned if the Lee Bench Plate is strong enough for the LNL progressive press.

Does anyone use the Lee Bench Plate for their LNL AP or Dillon progressive presses?

Thanks

you could probably easily use the lee bench plate but you would have to extend your piece of wood out the back of the benchplate take some measurements cut your wood and try it i use it for my ss press my 4 other dillons are on strongmounts

It wont work with the LNL, I tried it. The base of the LNL is too big, and wont fit unless you do some "adjusting" to the LNL base to make it fit. It wasnt worth it to me.

Seems to me somebody on here had some trouble with one.

I think it may have been Snuffy but I ain't sure.

Yup, it was me!:banghead: The plate let loose with my classic turret in it, darn near dropped it on the floor. I thought I had it solved, but it came loose again just a while back. I re-did the fix I came up with, but I may augment it with a bolt to keep it from working loose again.

Those 4 little screws just don't put enough down force into that metal formed hold-downs to grip the wood base. It's actually a poor design. Which surprises me to no end, Richard Lee has brilliant ideas,,,, usually.

Anybody with a bit of mechanical know-how will realize that a triangular piece being held by it's edges with a small gripping force can and will find a way to work loose.

I'm thinking to make aluminum plates for my presses and come up with a standard bolt pattern that goes through the plate... Should make for super-quick changeover.

I have the Hornady LNL and the Pro 1000 and a Lee single stage. I use the Lee Bench Plate to switch out the Lee stuff, but the Hornady seemed to big and heavy. I have my Hornady attached to a 2x6 then attach it to the bench using 2x4 pieces under the 2x6 and then bolt the whole thing down. It isn't a quick change out, but it is steady. Hope this helps. Thanks all for responding. It looked like the Plate would not be sturdy enough for the LNL when I fist saw it. I'll explore other quick change options. It's not really a PITA to change out as I use wing nuts on all the bolts; however, I was looking for something cleaner and faster.

Pic's of my mounting blocks.

A few more pic's, all holes in the blocks correspond to each other so I can move any press, powder measure or lube/sizer to many locations on my two bench's, takes just seconds to do and they are soild.

I'm mostly impressed with the 38 casings holding the primer gizmos on the lee turret press floydster. very clever. Certainly more celever than my "throw them in the drawer with the primers" method.

grey, thanks, they are actually 44 Colt cases, I set the primer arms in them and put the shell holders on top.
Always handy:) I love JB weld.

Floydster, great idea on your mounting plates. I can see where it would be easy to change presses with the fastener/attachments you use. Thanks for the pictures.
