can hogue handalls be trimmed

i just put one on a pm40 and it hangs off the bottome of the gun about 1/8", just wondering if i can trim it off without the rubber tearing. i dont want the cut to "run"

don't use scissors, they'll never come out straight that way. believe me i've tried it.

lay the grips flat and press down hard with a ruler. then use that ruler as a guide to cut a straight line with an exacto knife.

I've done it on my P11 to clear the mag release. It has the added bonus of shielding said mag release. I never have had the mag accidently released in my pocket with that sleeve on it.

I used a fresh single edge razor blade with a Handall Jr. installed on my PM9. I didn't "slice" back & forth, I just pushed the blade through until it made contact with the frame underneath. Nice, clean, straight edge.
