Can I buy a vector uzi if I am living in NY?

Sure can. It either has to be pre-sept 94 or modified. Modified meaning non-folding stock. I think that's the only stipulation with an uzi. Do Vectors have a bayonet lug? IMI's do but i'm not sure about Vectors. In any event, if you ditch one or the other you'll be good as it accepts hi-cap mags. If you dig up one of the many surplus uzi mags, as well, you should be good as they are almost all "pre-ban."

Bayonet lug is present but Vector sold them during the ban with the lug ground off and stock welded (or permanently attached poly or wood stock).

Chances are they still sell them in that configuration - they always were good with special orders (including CA stuff)

OK, so now here is the real question...someone bought an uzi from me who lives in that state...how do I get it to them without violating their laws...and who is responsible for the transfer...the transfer-er or the transferee? Or will it have to go to an out of state FFL?

send it through ups, to there ffl, that guy hands the new owner paper work they fill it out, ffl calls it in, the new owner walks home with it if all is good.

The individual buying the Vector from you is responsible for complying with NYS law. Just ship it to a FFL.

Ok that is what I thought. His dealer just will not be able to transfer it to him unless he makes it ban compliant correct? Or his dealer can hold onto it while he sells it out of state right?
