I have a Remington 513T Matchmaster that my uncle gave me a few months ago. I have taken it to the range several times, to do some 100 yard bench shooting cheaply :) It seems to be a very accurate rifle, but the trigger pull is much heavier then I would have expected from a target rifle. The pull is noticeable heavier then the pull on my 30-06, which i think is around 3.5 or 4 lbs. I don't know if all 513T's have such crappy triggers(I doubt they do), or if I just got unlucky with this one, or If it sitting in a closet for 25 years some how messed with the trigger pull.

Well at any rate, I am wondering it there is anything I can to to lighten the trigger pull on my 513T.

Thanks for any info!

Congrats on your newly aquired 513T. The trigger does have some adjustability.

The guy at the bottom of the page gives a good description of how to adjust the 513's trigger.

Be VERY CAREFUL turning the screw on the front of the trigger group "out"... The adjustment is very corse. You will reach a point very quickly where the trigger gets really "spongy feeling" will no longer hold sufficient tension on the firing pin/sear surface. Once you reach that point the rifle will go off when handled roughly or dropped or sometimes the firing pin will follow forward on closing of the bolt.

If your not skilled in messing with triggers, it would be best to take it to a skilled gun smith to have it adjusted.

Thanks for the info and link! I only use the rifle for bench rest shooting, so it's only has a round in the chamber when it's pointed down range at the target. So I'll take a screw driver with me next time I go to the range and adjust the front trigger cushion spring adjusting screw out little by little and see where I can get with it. It looks like it's as tight as it can go now, so anything will be an improvement. This rifle is amazingly accurate, to bad it doesn't have a better trigger. Oh well, getting used to it will probably help me become a better shot with other rifles.
