Can I use 300 win mag. brass for 7mm rem. mag.

Someone gave me a bunch of once fired 300 win mag brass, but I don't have a rifle for that. Can I reform that brass to 7mm rem. mag.? I've never done anyting other than necking down brass before. If it's going to require another die, a case forming die I guess it would be called, I'll just trade it for something else at the next gun show.

Shoulve it in the 7mm die, trim the excess length and go, no forming die should be needed.

My first atempt was with the 7mm die, but even with lots of case lube it nearly got stuck within the initial contact. I'm not sure if your aware that the shoulder of the 300 win. mag is a lot further up on the case than that of the 7mm mag.? The die would have to set the shoulder back significantly, not just a few K's.

I would suspect you would have to ream the necks, but I have not tried it.
