Can I use 357 Sig bullets in 9 mm brass to load for 9 mm handgun?

I am loading 9 mm on a Dillon XL650. I've been using Montana Gold 9 mm 115 grain bullets, but they are out of stock. Can I use 357 Sig 125 Grain HP's to load 9 mm? They both are .355 diameter. I'd use the data I have for 124 grain 9 mm HP's to calculate the powder load and the COL. Just want to check before ordering the bullets. Can I use the 357 Sig's in place of the 9 mm bullets in 9 x 19 (9 mm Luger) brass?

Yes.

But the seating OAL will probably be shorter then you are using now because .357 SIG bullets generally have a shorter meplat curve then 9mm Luger bullets due to the short case neck of the .3357 SIG.

Use your pistol barrel to check for proper seating depth so the bullet meplat (curved part on the pointy end) misses the rifling leade.

Your load will also need to be tweaked if you are near the top end. The bullet will be taking up more case volume and increasing pressure, so you need to compensate.

Unfortunately, MG ran out of the 357 Sig before I decided what to do, so now I'm back to looking for bulk (many thousands) of 9 mm FMJ 115 grain. I may just order from Precision Delta and go ahead and wait out the 18+ weeks for 6,000 of them for essentially the same price as MG.

Good to hear the 125gn 357 SIG MGs can be used in 9Luger. I plan to do just that. MG has been posting case qtys in stock of 357 SIG and 40 SW on their site for the last couple of days. Right around 5:05pm. Look for it if you haven't already pulled the trigger elsewhere. I'll post an update on my SIG->Luger experience once they've been loaded and tested.

Maybe....

A 357 SIG bullet is supposed to be .355", I'd bet your barrel is bigger than that.

Slug your barrel, you want the bullet to be .001-.002 BIGGER than your barrel.

If you use a smaller bullet, you'll get atleast some leading with lead bullets.
And poorer accuracy with plated/jacketed bullets.
