I picked up an Redding case lube pad and was wondering whether anyone has used it with Lee case lube, and if so, whether they've used it straight or watered down? Did it dry out later or did the cover prevent that?

There is a much easier way to use the Lee case lube. Get you a small spray bottle from WalMart or the like. Like a 1 cup or thereabouts sized spray bottle. Squeeze the contents of 1 1/2 tubes of the Lee toothpaste tubes of case lube in the bottle. Add a 50/50 mixture of tap water and ISO alcohol. Shake it up. Squirt 5 or 6 shots into a ziploc freezer bag. Add a couple of handsfull of brass and swirl it around in the bag to assure uniform application. Dump cases on towel to dry. In 20 minutes get to loading. You can lube a thousand empty 223 cases in this manner in less than 5 minutes. You can store them lubed up and they won't attract lint or abrasives, and they are ready to go whenever you are. You can shoot your cartridges without cleaning, or if you lke shiney cartridges, tumble them for about 10 minutes to remove all traces of your lube, or even wipe them down with a damp cotton towel.

Why mess with the lube pad when you can do this in a fraction of the time. Best of all, the lube applied this way gets a wee bit inside the case mouth to completely avoid expander ball squeal.

YMMV.
