Hi

I was wondering If someone would recommend me some ammo for my Taurus-92 (9mm) yes I AM picky lol

Its for home defense, but something that wouldn't wake up half of the block would be nice if I ever would have to use it (I hope I don't but you never know)

so basically I'm Looking for something not to loud and also powerful enough to put some one down (if needed)

alright well any help is greatly appreciated...

thanks guys......

Um...I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a "reduced noise" round. If you want less noise...get a suppressor.

As far as 9mm round recommendations...do a search. There has been plenty of input on the topic. I'm pretty sure this question was even asked within the last week.

Wow. And here I thought I was being neighborly by considering overpenetration in my HD selection. But it would be tragic indeed to wake someone up when using lethal force.

This cat-launcher is pretty quiet, yet still has some "put down" power: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7uWCVYb9wp4

thanks for your reply,

well I'm not going to be getting a suppressor because theres no way that I can (legally) get one lol...

but I will do a search and see what ammo is worthy of my 92 :D

thanks again..

HEY!!! I hop that wasn't sarcasm... because I live in a really quiet neighborhood and I don't want to be called a murderer for as long as I live here (even thou I would be doing it in self defense) alot of people wont understand that and thats why I was just wondering if I can some how get quiet---err 9mm ammo (not that 9mm is that loud) but its definatly noticeable in the middle of the night

Yeah, I know how neighbors can get. You kill just ONE guy and they never forget it.

But if they can't HEAR the shot, they'll never know anything of the sort took place on your street unless they see the cops and ambulance; or the local news.

Good luck!

lol u make it seem like im gonna b sitting here with it and just wait for any random person to walk in so I can shoot them lol

really I just dont want all the attention
even thou your right about the 30+cop cars and ambulance that
will be in front of the house and most likely news crews

*the following is a joke dont worry*
if it does happen I just want to take him out back and bury him like a normal sane person....lol

Neighborhood Defense - Gunfire! Was that GUNFIRE? Nah, not around here. Must have just been a car backfire. Yea, that’s it a car backfire and the person (BG) looking in bad shape with the cops and paramedics around him must have had a heart attack when they heard the loud bang. Yea, that’s it.

No, I’m not really trying to be cute or sarcastic. But I would like to make several points. Self defense in not murder its self-defense. Also defending yourself in your home would not make you a killer even if the BG dies, which may or may not be the case. If the BG prevails the confrontation and you’re the one on the ground surrounded by the cops and paramedics that would be murder.

I pray to God every time I put my 9mm in the nightstand that I won’t need it or the 12-gauge pump in the closet. If I do then, I pray there would be no collateral damage. Collateral damage is one of my and IMO should be every ones greatest concern.

On a side note, if you live in a single-family residence with say 10-20 feet between the houses, windows closed and maybe a hedge or fence I doubt the noise from your 9mm would wake up anybody. If you live in multi-family housing such as an apartment, townhouse or condo you may, IMHO, need to rethink your home defense weapon and look at a 12/20 gauge shotgun. No collateral damage is the highest priority. Either way one must come to grips with the fact that the minute you pull the trigger the cat’s out of the bag, possibly nationally. At this point quiet bullets, suppressor nor anything else will help if the shooting was unjust.
