No, this isnt a Glock bashing, I am a big Glock Guy. I saw this recall and had some questions...maybe I should call the number on Monday and see if they could explain, but I thought maybe someone beat me to the punch.

First off, I am not one to buy this sort of Gimmick ammo but it raised a question or two.

1.) Why does it only seem to concern Glock .45? I have always considered Glocks to be a +P type gun, but obviously there seems to be a pressure problem because of Glocks "unsupported" chamber. Another read blamed it on the type of rifling Glocks use in the barrels.

2.) Their warning says "Some" Glock models...anyone have any clarity here? It also states no other .45 guns are affected?

My Glock .45 is the 30S.

Thankyou to any that have already checked this.

I would think it has to do with their octagonal rifling in 45acp. Just as its bad with lead if not cleaned after a few rounds..

I've seen 3 types of rifling on glocks. My 23 has hardly any, and it's kinda rounded. Then there's the weird jagged rifling (Glock 34, IIRC) and the standard 1911 style.

My 23 has the one on the right:

Many semi auto pistols have chambers similar to Glock now. And the ones that don't, I wish they had.

That looks like pretty corny ammo to me.

I thought we were just supposed to buy it for ammo collections.
Much like the old Black Lightning "Final Judgment" ammo.

Honestly, I didn't even know RIP was made in .45.

Agreed, not interested in the ammo, just why only Glocks were affected. Not something I am worried about. Apparently, they have "fixed" the problem with current .45 caliber ammo......whatever!

Feeding issues?

At $2 per round locally its sales is characterized as "dismal" by our favorite LGS. No way I've ever buy into this gimmick anyway. My guns run just fine on cast, plated and jacketed and if you look at the specs, it's nothing special anyway.

Reminds me of Winchester's Black Talon stuff. "Horrible" looking peeled-back black petals said to rip (no pun intended) through human flesh like a "buzz saw". It was all hype then and it's all hype now with this "magic" bullet.

No tweak taken, 99.9% of all military and Law enforcement use them...'Nuf said!
