I am looking for a decent quality pistol rest around the $50 range to sight my guns in. There seem to be a bunch of crappy plastic ones out there. Can anyone recommend a decent one?

Well I finally used the shooters ridge pistol rest. It is well made, assembles easily and is pretty easy to use. You can adjust the elevation and the direction but that is about it. In all reality I would much rather use a couple of good sand bags. Maybe its just me but I feel the sand bags hug the gun better and provide a bit more stability. I am probably going to return it tomorrow. It was worth a try.

At my ranges, there are small and large sandbags available.

These provide a far-better support than a $50 rest.

Don't know if you have them available at your range.

Well, that's disappointing. Thanks for following up, though.

I'm really starting to think that "serious" handgun accuracy testing requires a Ransom rest and that nothing else will do.
