I've read a webpage of some guy who did this and who swears it actually works. He simply cut the rims off of shot .22 Magnum cases and use them to shoot .22 LR out of his S&W .22 Magnum Revolver without any issues at all.

Yes I'm aware that it is dangerous to use .22 Long ammunition in .22 Mag Cylinders. Hot gases to your face and all that.

But has anyone done before? Are there chamber adapters you can buy that does this?

I don’t know anyone who has done this. Off the top of my head, i would be surprised if you could insert a .22 round into a .22 mag case. However, I’ve been surprised before. Even if it would work, I don’t think it’s something that I would do short of some sort of an emergency.

I haven't done it, but it looks like you have to increase the bore size of the spent .22 WMR cases a bit.

Anyone seen the steel adaptor sleeves for shooting .22LR in .22 Magnum?

Someone with both cartridges take a spent .22 magnum and a dremmel with cut off disc and end this discussion before I go nuts from the "AUGHT-A" and "AUGHT-NOT" screaming from the back seat and drive off the edge of that cliff!

… and I don't want to die, I just wanna ride my....

My neighbor the gunsmith reported cutting the heads off WRMs to use as LR adapters in his Frontier Scout that did not come with both cylinders. Unfortunately, I did not see him in action with it and he soon traded off the revolver.
