So, who's the hotshot who can identify this piece? It's one of the several new guns I've uploaded to the web site (Forgotten Weapons) this evening (looking at the site before you figure it out is cheating!).
MG42 but could be a modern MG3 (although I don't think so given the grip). Possibly the Yugo version of it...what was it called? M53 or something along those lines?

It is, in fact, the US experimental version of the MG42 in .30-06 (aka T24). Here's another of this pictures I uploaded:
The distinguishing features you can see are the attachment points for the US tripod, the US-style rear sight, and the US bipod. Note the 1944 date on the caption.
