Lol. It is ugly, but for $150 and it uses the same ammo as the AK's, kinda hard to pass up.

i agree and id have jumped on it too since thats a round i can still afford to shoot when i want to

The guy says it has Chinese markings on it, so the Type 67 may be it. Thanks. Now I am going to try to research it's value. I would be happy if it is x54 too, I have some of that laying around.

So again, if it'll shoot I sure hope it was imported as a semi auto.
IF it is not (and I have no reason to assume it would be full at this point) what would be my options. I know that no new machine guns can be registered, but can I convert it legally to semi-auto?

It's worthless. But if it helps I'll do you a favor and buy it from you for $150. That way you'll get your money back.

but can I convert it legally to semi-auto

:( according to AFT "once a machinegun always a machinegun" otherwise the CMP could have converted all those M14s and sold them as M1As :(

Now if it was converted to semi auto before it was imported then I believe you're fine.

$10 says its demilled (especially at the price you paid).

I get to inspect it before I fork over the dough. I dont know if I will get a chance to shoot it though, so if it turns out to be full auto after I get it home, and it cant be converted to semi, what is the procedure for divesting myself of this potential felony?

Don't even look at the thing, don't stop by, don't even think about it anymore. Run don't walk away from this one

Well, I probably should have asked before buying, but it was only $150. I had not idea it had such a high chance of being a machine gun. I have already committed to buy so I am at least going to honor my word and inspect it. I AM going to insist on being able to fire a few rounds though and if the seller doesnt agree I am going to walk away.

you are a fool

If this is the ATF soliciting a 150 dollar machine gun you WILL go to prison

Absolutely. This is the best advice. If you even show up to look at it, and it's a full auto, you are ****ed. Very, very ****ed. Either we are talking about a really bad person wanting to sell you a machinegun, or we are talking about an ATF setup. Either way, you want nothing to do with this.

If it is semi-auto, you are about to get the deal of a lifetime. Call first. Make very, very sure that this is not capable for firing in full auto. If it is a federal sting, they will not try to trick you into buying a machinegun.

DO NOT SHOW UP UNTIL THIS IS CLARIFIED!!!!!

I can't stress that enough. DO NOT show up and inspect it. This will get you arrested. CALL FIRST. If you do not do this you will go to prison for a very, very long time. You will not be able to talk your way out of this if you show up. Do NOT show up without calling first to verify that it is not a machinegun. If you do show up, you will be arrested before you get a chance to inspect it. You will be charged and probably convicted, and you will go to prison.

Just don't do it. Honor your word by calling. Not by showing up.

how so?

just looking at a machinegun isn't breaking the law. he has no intention of buying a machine-gun and i'm assuming it wasn't listed as such.

contact the owner again and ask if it's a machine gun or not. if it is, tell him you have to pass because you can't afford the extra cost. if it's not, go buy it.

i highly doubt the BATFE is going to list a gun for sale and when the buyer shows up to look at it, say "suprise, your going to jail because this is a machine-gun". way too many holes for a lawyer to have fun with.
