Can a complete AR be ordered directly from them? They have them on the website but I'm not sure if you must be an FFL.

You can, but if you want to buy a lower, or a complete gun it will have to go to an FFL. If there wasn't any panic you might have been able to save some money buying from a LMT dealer, but good luck finding anyone with them in stock at a decent price.

And don't expect them to send the stuff immediately; I am sure they are backed up a little bit.

Yea I know it has to be shipped to an FFL. Just curious if I had to actually BE an FFL to order it.

Not familiar with LMT, but most distributors will not deal with you if you don't have an FFL. You'll likely need to have someone with an FFL order for you.

Everyone seems to think LMT is a good company. And any company that sells directly to the public is a good company.

There are many that will not RRA, DPMS, etc.

:)

12131--In my experience, most manufacturers also won't sell to you unless you have an FFL. Don't know about this LMT outfit. At any rate, an FFL holder can likely get it for you more economically. I know that we are endangered specie, but we do still exist, and can generally help you out! Besides, if it is a firearm, you will have to go through an FFL holder to recieve it anyway.

I have ordered non-"gun" parts direct from LMT in the past... you can do that with no problem. (up to and including complete uppers).

I have had my FFL order lowers directly from LMT, no distributor required.

I got my goods in both situations... problem is, they are not snappy on shipping. Expect to wait several weeks, and that was before Obamanation.

Normally I would have said to find a stocking dealer, order from them, and get your goods in a fraction of the time for the same MSRP. Post Obamanation, that probably isn't the clear path anymore. If you want your stuff fast, you are probably going to have to pay a premium. If you would rather get it for a reasonable cost, you are probably going to have to wait no matter who you order from.

Best plan now would probably be to call your favorite dealer, get a quote/wait time, call LMT and do the same; order from the better option, with the understanding that they may not hit the timing estimate exactly.

"...any company that sells directly to the public is a good company..." Not if said company has distributors.

If you need an FFL to buy it they will only allow you to order it through a dealer.

Will not allow you to buy directly and transfer. I just ordered a lower from them through a local shop.
