You can buy the cans of ammo at Cabelas in 300 round increments. Is it any good? I heard that they mix brass casings in the same container. Comments from users would be much appreciated.

I think it is vastly overpriced, and is merely average quality for being reloaded ammunition. There are a few 'gems' within Cabelas' lineup, but I would prefer to buy from other sources that produce better remanufactured amunition.

It's OK for the price, if you include the cost of the ammo box. I prefer my own reloads. I think I still have a box of the 9mm's that I bought from Cabela's 2 years ago... I shot over 500 rounds of the stuff and they all went "bang" and I don't remember any jams.

It is mixed headstamps, mostly brass with a few nickel cases mixed in.

i bought a box of .357 hp's, i have about 100 rounds left, they all went boom so far....i'd buy them again.

No! I bought a 250rnd box of .223 62 grain friday at the Glendale,Arizona store, specifically bought it because it was not marked Re-Man and the sales jerk assured me it was new manufactured Remington, when i got it home and opened it , I found Ultramax remanufactured ammo. When I looked closely at the ammo I found a lot of variance in bullet seating depth. I took it back to return it and got a ration of crap about returning ammo;store policy blah blah blah I had to raise quite a stink before thay let me exchange it.... never again

To the brand they use (pertaining to the bulk 500 magnum ammo). HSM… (It’s new brass…not re-manufactured)

For other calibers (cartridges). Their is a lot more brass floating around than for the 500 magnum (birth 2003).

Never used Cabelas bulk ammo for 45, 44. Always found better deals on those calibers and reloading them, myself.

Bullet seating depth varies even in factory ammo, as I found recently.

In a 20 round box of Remington UMC .223.

Some cannelures were completely exposed and others were less so, including at least one sample where the cannelure was completely buried in the neck of the cartridge.

I wouldn't buy HSM products ever again, even through Cabela's, strictly on principle. :fire:

I was in on a group buy from HSM for 16,000 rounds of .223 in once fired cases. At the time the order was placed, there was no mention of any backlog, nor was there a request to "borrow" almost $3,500 of our money for four months, interest free. We sent certified funds in JULY, have a delivery receipt for the check, and STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR AMMO. :banghead:

We DO have a paper trail of "we're really busy" e-mails and broken promises of delivery dates gone by, and at last inquiry, we are told they are "trying" to get it out to us in the next few weeks. I am NOT holding my breath. . . :cuss:
